SERVICES PRODUCER PRICE INDEX (2010=100)
SECOND QUARTER 2026
- The SPPI increased by
2.9 per cent in the second quarter of 2026, up from 2.1 per cent in the
previous quarter.
- The Accommodation and
food & beverage service activities index rose by 6.4 per cent, following a
5.7 per cent in the previous quarter. This increase was driven by Restaurant
and mobile food service activities index (5.8%) and Beverage service activities
(3.1%). The Transportation index increased by 5.6 per cent, up from 3.8 per cent in the previous quarter, mainly due to a 17.5
per cent rise in the Passenger air transport index. The Education also recorded
an increase of 2.1 per cent, after an increase of 1.9 per cent in the previous
quarter, supported by Higher education (1.8%) and Secondary education (1.7%).
Other indices that registered increases were Arts, entertainment &
recreation and Health, both increases by 1.6 per cent, followed by Real estate
activities (1.3%) and Professional (1.0%).
- Meanwhile, the
Information & communication index recorded an increase of 0.3 per cent,
compared to 0.1 per cent in previous quarter, due to the Data processing,
hosting and related activities; web portals (0.8%) and Computer programming,
consultancy & related activities (0.7%).
- On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the SPPI increased by 1.1 per cent, from
a 1.4 per cent increase in the previous quarter contributed by all subsectors.
The Transportation increased by 2.0 per cent mainly supported by Passenger air
transport (11.2%). The Arts, entertainment & recreation indices also went
up by 2.0 per cent, while the Accommodation and food & beverage service
activities increased by 1.3 per cent due to Restaurant and mobile food service
activities index (1.3%). In addition, other indices that recorded increases
were Real estate activities (0.6%), Education (0.5%), Health (0.3%),
Information & communication (0.2%) and Professional (0.1%).
