SERVICES PRODUCER PRICE INDEX (2010=100)
THIRD QUARTER 2025
- The SPPI rose 1.0 per cent in the third
quarter of 2025, maintaining the same rate for the second consecutive quarter.
- The Accommodation and food & beverage
service activities index increased by 3.4 per cent, compared to 3.6 per cent
increase in the previous quarter. This was driven by Restaurants and mobile
food service activities index (4.0%) and Beverage service activities index
(3.0%). Other indices that recorded increases were Education (1.4%), Health
(0.7%) and Professional (0.6%). Both Transportation and Real estate activities
indices recorded an increase by 0.5 per cent. Meanwhile, the Arts,
entertainment & recreation index registered a modest increase of 0.4 per
cent, compared to 4.5 per cent in the previous quarter.
- In contrast, the Information &
communication index recorded a marginal decrease of 0.1 percent, after posting
an unchanged in the previous quarter. This was influenced by declines in
Wireless telecommunications activities (-0.1%) and Computer programming, consultancy and related activities (-0.1%).
- On a quarter-on-quarter basis, SPPI eased by
0.1 per cent, compared to 0.3 per cent in the previous quarter. This increase was mainly contributed by
Accommodation and food & beverage service activities (0.7%), Transportation
(0.6%) and Education (0.3%). Meanwhile, Health, Professional and Real estate
activities indices recorded a modest increase of 0.1 percent. However, the
Arts, entertainment & recreation index declined by 3.1 per cent, after an
increase of 2.0 per cent in the previous quarter. The Information &
communication index also recorded a slight decrease of 0.1 per cent.
