Natural Rubber (NR) production decreased by 5.2 per cent in August 2024 (35,979 tonnes) as compared to July 2024 (37,960 tonnes). Year-on-year comparison showed that the production of NR increased by 14.9 per cent (August 2023: 31,309 tonnes). Production of NR in August 2024 for Malaysia was mainly contributed by smallholders sector (88.1%) as compared to estates sector (11.9%).
Total stocks of NR in August 2024 decreased by 13.7 per cent to 127,876 tonnes as compared to 148,106 tonnes in July 2024. Rubber processors factory contributed 88.0 per cent of the stocks followed by rubber consumers factory (11.8%) and rubber estates (0.2%).
Exports of Malaysia's NR amounted to 57,482 tonnes in August 2024, increased 19.2 per cent as against July 2024 (48,204 tonnes). P.R. China remained as the main destination for NR exports which accounted 25.8 per cent of total exports in August 2024 followed by the United Arab Emirates (20.1%), Germany (10.1%), the United States of America (9.6%) and India (8.3%).
Analysis of the average monthly price showed that
Concentrated Latex recorded a decrease of 2.0
per cent (August 2024: 634.07 sen per kg; July
2024: 647.23 sen per kg) while Scrap decreased by 1.0 per cent (August
2024: 664.26 sen per kg; July 2024: 670.80 sen per kg). Trend of prices for all
Standard Malaysian Rubber (S.M.R) was mixed increased 0.5 per cent and decreased 2.0 per cent.
