Overview

The Services Volume Index continued to record positive growth of 5.0 per cent, reaching 159.9 points in the second quarter of 2025. This performance was driven by growth in the Wholesale & retail trade, Food & beverage and Accommodation segment (5.0%), followed by the Business services and finance segment (4.2%), the Information & communication and Transportation & storage segment (5.4%), and the Other services segment (7.7%).

For quarter-on-quarter comparison, volume index of Services increased by 1.1 per cent in the second quarter of 2025. This growth was supported by increases in the Wholesale & retail trade, Food & beverage and Accommodation segment (1.8%), the Information & communication and Transportation & storage segment (1.3%) and the other services (2.8%). However, the Business services & Finance segment recorded decreases of 0.9 per cent.

Meanwhile, the seasonally adjusted volume index for this sector recorded a decrease of 0.9 per cent to reach 155.4 points in the second quarter of 2025.
