Overview

The Volume Index of Services continued to record positive growth of 5.8 per cent, reaching 168.0 points in the first quarter of 2026. This performance was driven by growth in the Wholesale & retail trade, Food & beverage and Accommodation segment (5.7%), followed by the Business Services and Finance segment (3.0%), the Information & communication and Transportation & storage segment (8.1%), and the Other services segment (9.3%).

For quarter-on-quarter comparison, The Volume Index of Services increased slower by 0.1 per cent in the first quarter of 2026. This growth was supported by increases in the Business Services & Finance segment (1.1%), the Information & communication and Transportation & storage (1.2%) and Other services segments (0.2%). However, the Wholesale & retail trade, Food & beverage and Accommodation segment recorded decreases of 1.0 per cent.

Meanwhile, the Seasonally Adjusted Volume Index for this sector recorded an increase of 6.2 per cent to reach 168.0 points in the first quarter of 2026.
