Pulau Pinang dominated the nation’s exports, accounting for 48.9 per cent of Malaysia’s total exports in June 2026
- Malaysia’s total trade for June 2026 amounted to RM340.9 billion with exports and imports recording RM177.9 billion and RM163.0 billion, respectively.
- Exports was valued at RM177.9 billion in June 2026, increased RM55.6 billion (+45.4%) as compared to the same month of the previous year. The increase in exports was attributed to the higher exports in Pulau Pinang (+RM39.0 billion), Johor (+RM8.7 billion), Sarawak (+RM4.3 billion), Selangor (+RM4.0 billion), W.P. Kuala Lumpur (+RM880.4 million), Perak (+RM567.5 million), Kedah (+RM178.7 million), W.P. Labuan (+RM153.8 million) and Negeri Sembilan (+RM99.9 million). However, exports decreased in Perlis (-RM22.1 million), Kelantan (-RM63.3 million), Terengganu (-RM93.7 million), Pahang (-RM104.6 million), Melaka (-RM508.7 million) and Sabah (-RM547.5 million).
- Pulau Pinang remained as the top exporter with a contribution of 48.9 per cent, followed by Johor (17.6%), Selangor (13.8%), Sarawak (6.0%) and W.P. Kuala Lumpur (3.2%).
- Imports in June 2026 increased RM49.7 billion (+43.9%) as compared to the same month in year 2025. The increase in imports was attributed by the higher imports in most states such as Pulau Pinang (+RM19.5 billion), Johor (+RM11.9 billion), Selangor (+RM9.2 billion), W.P. Kuala Lumpur (+RM8.3 billion), Kedah (+RM1.5 billion), Negeri Sembilan (+RM748.7 million), Perak (+RM398.6 million), Pahang (+RM266.6 million) and Sabah (+RM4.8 million). However, imports decreased in Kelantan (-RM12.4 million), W.P. Labuan (-RM17.3 million), Perlis (-RM31.6 million), Sarawak (-RM32.6 million), Terengganu (-RM50.0 million) and Melaka (-RM559.7 million).
- Pulau Pinang dominates Malaysia’s imports with a share of 28.4 per cent, followed by Johor (24.2%), Selangor (22.6%), W.P. Kuala Lumpur (10.9%) and Kedah (4.6%).
