Malaysia natural rubber production decreased by 8.2 per
cent
in March 2026
Natural Rubber (NR) production decreased by 8.2 per cent in March 2026 (21,310 tonnes) as compared to February 2026 (22,124 tonnes). Year-on-year comparison showed that the production of NR decreased by 29.3 per cent (March 2025: 28,739 tonnes). Production of NR in March 2026 for Malaysia was mainly contributed by smallholders (87.8%) as compared to estates (12.2%).
Total stocks of NR in March 2026 decreased by 1.8 per cent to 139,174 tonnes as compared to 141,697 tonnes in February 2026. Rubber processors factory contributed 79.1 per cent of the stocks followed by rubber consumers factory (20.8%) and rubber estates (0.1%).
Exports of Malaysia's NR amounted to 33,137 tonnes in March 2026, decreased by 2.2 per cent as against February 2026 (33,897 tonnes). P.R. China remained as the main destination for NR exports which accounted 44.0 per cent of total exports in March 2026 followed by Germany (18.1%), Portugal (4.6%), the United States of America (4.4%) and Brazil (3.9%). The exports performance was contributed by NR-based product such as rubber gloves, tyre, tube and rubber thread. Rubber gloves were the main exports of rubber-based products with a value of RM0.92 billion in March 2026, an increase of 3.8 per cent as compared to February 2026 (RM0.88 billion).
In term of the average monthly price showed that concentrated latex recorded 665.40 sen per kilogram in March 2026 as compared to 586.69 sen per kilogram in February 2026 (+13.4 per cent). Meanwhile scrap recorded the average monthly price 654.27 sen per kilogram in March 2026 as compared to 631.13 sen per kilogram in February 2026 (+3.7 per cent). The World Bank Commodity Price Data reported the prices March for TSR 20 (Technically Specified Rubber) was USD1.95/kg has increased 1.5 per cent from USD1.93/kg and SGP/MYS (Singapore/Malaysia) was USD2.39/kg has increased 5.8 per cent from USD2.26/kg in previous month.
The
natural rubber production in the first quarter of 2026 declined by 10.4 per
cent to 71,013 tonnes as compared to 79,247 tonnes in the fourth quarter 2025.
Meanwhile, the performance of the first quarter of 2026 also recorded a
decrease of 25.3 per cent as compared to the same period in the previous year.
