• A baby born in year 2021, 2022 and 2023 on average is expected to live until 74.0 years, 73.8 years and 74.8 years, respectively.
• A baby boy born in year 2021, 2022 and 2023 on average is expected to live until 71.8 years, 71.5 years and 72.5 years.
• A baby girl born in year 2021, 2022 and 2023 on average is expected to live until 76.5 years, 76.4 years and 77.4 years.

LIFE EXPECTANCY AT SPECIFIC AGE

AT AGE 15 YEARS

• Males who reach the age of 15 years in 2023 is expected to live another 58.3 years.
• Females who reach the age of 15 years in 2023 is expected to live another 63.1 years.

AT AGE 60 YEARS

• Males who reach the age of 60 years in 2023 is expected to live another 18.3 years.
• Females who reach the age of 60 years in 2023 is expected to live another 21.1 years.

AT AGE 65 YEARS

• Males who reach the age of 65 years in 2023 is expected to live another 14.9 years.
• Females who reach the age of 65 years in 2023 is expected to live another 17.2 years.

LIFE EXPECTANCY AT BIRTH BY ETHNIC GROUP

Chinese remains having the highest life expectancy at birth for 2021 to 2023.

LIFE EXPECTANCY AT BIRTH BY STATE

Selangor recorded the highest life expectancy at birth for 2021 to 2023 while Terengganu recorded the lowest life expectancy at birth for the same period.

LIFE EXPECTANCY AT BIRTH BY ADMINISTRATIVE DISTRICTS

Petaling, Selangor recorded the highest life expectancy (80.5 years) for 2023, while Samarahan, Sarawak recorded the highest life expectancy at birth for 2021 (79.8 years) and 2022 (79.6 years) at district level. Kecil Lojing, Kelantan recorded the lowest life expectancy at birth for 2022 (63.2 years) and 2023 (62.8 years), while Kuala Penyu, Sabah recorded the lowest life expectancy at birth for 2021 (64.2 years)
