Overview
Malaysia Steps Firmly Towards Agenda 2030 with 82% of SDG Indicators Available
The report of SDG Indicators, 2024 represents the third
series of 21 publications comprising five reports at the national level and 16 reports by
state. The five national SDG Indicators reports include an Executive Summary
and four reports based on the five focus areas of the SDG, namely:

People
(Goals 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5);
·
Prosperity
(Goals 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11);
·
Planet
(Goals 6, 12, 13, 14, and 15);
·
Peace
(Goal 16); and
·
Partnership
(Goal 17).
The SDG Indicators Report by
State consists of 84 state level indicators and 26 district level indicators. This publication comprises three sections, SDG
Indicators Achievements by State, Summary of Findings and Tables of SDG
Indicators at state and district levels. The SDG Indicators Report by State is
available for 16 states, including publications for the Federal Territories of
Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territories of Putrajaya and Federal Territories of Labuan.

At the
global level, the SDG indicator framework now comprises 251 indicators, of
which 234 are unique, following refinements endorsed at the 56th session of the
United Nations Statistical Commission (UNSC) in March 2025. Malaysia reported
205 available indicators, 23 partially available need further development, 16
not available and 7 not relevant. In total, 244 indicators are relevant to
Malaysia, reflecting an overall availability rate of 82 per cent as compared to
the global framework.
