Highlights from Day 1 (Closed Session):
The session was chaired by the Lao Statistics Bureau and co-chaired by the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), with input from representatives of AMS to foster robust regional statistical collaboration.

Key Discussions:

Strengthening ASEAN’s statistical infrastructure to support data accuracy and consistency.

Advancing the draft ACSS Action Plan 2026-2030, aligning it with ASEAN’s Vision 2045.

Endorsing the Handbook for Mirror Analysis on Merchandise Trade Statistics, a crucial tool for enhancing trade data quality.

Embracing innovative technologies by implementing APIs for data submissions across ASEAN Member States.

Updating policies on data sharing, confidentiality, and dissemination, ensuring robust data governance frameworks.

Malaysia’s Key Contributions

Co-led the development of the ACSS Action Plan 2026-2030 and its KPIs with the Philippines.

Presented the Handbook for Mirror Analysis on Merchandise Trade Statistics and the ASEAN Annual Priority List 2025 for endorsement.

Highlighted Malaysia’s readiness to lead and host ACSS15 during its ASEAN-Malaysia Chairmanship in 2025.
