The visit began with a warm welcome from YBhg. Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohd Uzir Mahidin, Chief Statistician Malaysia. He extended his gratitude to the delegation from MCI, led by Dr. Ir. Irawati Tjipto Priyanti, Head of CDII, and the SAS Institute Malaysia representatives, led by Mr. Nirlap Vora, Director, Customer Success Manager (ASEAN, India, Korea). To enhance its statistical capabilities, DOSM prioritises developing a highly skilled workforce in data science. This includes investing in training programs such as the SAS Certified Data Scientists program. DOSM has 49 certified SAS Data Scientists, positioning the department to effectively meet the current scenario in statistical challenges.
