Highlights:
The course, presented by the IMF Statistics Department, covered theoretical and practical aspects of compiling national accounts statistics based on the conceptual framework of the System of National Accounts 2008 (2008 SNA). It consisted of lectures addressing advanced compilation issues under the 2008 SNA, alongside workshops featuring practical exercises in compiling the accounts.
The main aim of the course was to train participants in developing and using more advanced compilation techniques, with key topics including supply and use tables, input-output tables, and price and volume measures. The course began with a review of the SNA framework and discussed how the accounts could be extended to meet specific user needs.
The main lectures and workshops included:
* Conceptual framework of the SNA
* Output of specific industries
* Supply and Use Tables (SUT) and Input-Output Tables (IOT)
* Price and volume measurement
The course also addressed key topics related to the ongoing update of the 2008 SNA. Emphasis was placed on the sharing of country experiences among participants.
