DOSM Hosts Working Visit from GBS and GXUFE
Putrajaya, 5 June 2025 – The Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) welcomed a delegation from the Guangxi Bureau of Statistics (GBS) and the Guangxi University of Finance and Economics (GXUFE) in a working visit aimed at strengthening regional statistical collaboration between China and Malaysia.
The visit focused on key areas including the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in statistical processes, GDP accounting methodologies, and statistics on social science, technology and cultural industries. Both parties also exchanged views on the use of API technology for data access and discussed preparations for the upcoming “10+1” China-ASEAN Statistical Cooperation Forum 2025.
YBhg. Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohd Uzir Mahidin, Chief Statistician Malaysia, and Mr. Chen Liquan, Director of GBS, delivered remarks emphasizing continued cooperation and mutual learning.
This engagement reinforces DOSM’s commitment to international partnerships and advancing the quality and accessibility of official statistics across the region.
