Call for Abstracts / Papers & the Best Young Statistician Presenter 2021

Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), Central Bank of Malaysia (BNM) and Malaysian Institute of Statistics (ISM) are pleased to announce the call for papers for the 8th Malaysia Statistics Conference 2021: Navigating Resilient Recovery through Statistics. The conference will be held entirely online on 20th October 2021 (Wednesday).

We are pleased to invite you submit an abstract with the following sub-themes:

  • Optimising Potential of Granular Data in Evidence Based Decision Making
  • Data Intelligence: Transforming Statistics to Meaningful Insights
  • Climate Change Data Gaps: Meeting the Climate Data Needs of the Real and Financial Sector Through Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
  • Developing Niche Roles as Statistician and Data Scientist
  • Emerging Statistical Models, Methodologies & Application
  • Computing Platforms for Big Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence

For the second time, The Best Young Statistician Presenter is designed to encourage young statistician to take an active interest in official statistics. The committee will judge the presenter based on the following criteria:

i. Malaysian
ii. Be under age of 35 on 1st January 2021
iii. Must be the first author
iv. Have good presentation skill

The participant should submit the abstract together with detailed resume. In the email cover, please specify “The Best Young Statistician Presenter Participant: Related Sub-Theme”.

Authors of accepted abstracts will be notified by the Programme Committee on 24th August 2021 (Tuesday).
