Value of gross output Water Supply; Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation Activities registered an annual growth rate of 8.1 per cent
 

Performance of Water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities for 2017 registered a  8.1 per cent growth in value of gross output to RM14.4 billion as compared to 2015.

The value added for this sub-sector increased to RM7.0 billion as compared to RM5.9 billion in 2015 at 8.7 per cent per annum. Meanwhile, value of intermediate input also increased by 7.6 per cent per year from RM6.4 billion to RM7.4 billion within the same period.

The group of water collection, treatment & supply industry was the main contributor to this sub-sector with RM6.8 billion contributed to the value of gross output followed by waste collection industry, RM3.7 billion.

Salaries & wages paid by this sub-sector in 2017 recorded an increase to RM1.6 billion as compared to RM1.4 billion in 2015 with average monthly salaries & wages of RM2,626.
