Overview

Housing

  1. The percentage of living quarters ownership by household increased from 76.5 per cent in 2022 to 78.0 per cent in 2024. Meanwhile, the percentage of households rented dwelling and living in quarters recorded a marginal decline of 0.6 and 0.9 percentage points respectively, bringing the latest percentages to 19.7 per cent and 2.4 per cent.
  2. Access to treated piped water in living quarters increased at 97.2 per cent (2022: 96.7%). Nearly all urban households have access to treated piped water (2024: 99.3%, 2022: 99.2%) as compared to rural households (2024: 89.8%, 2022: 87.7%).
  3. Meanwhile, access to electricity in living quarters remained high with 99.9 per cent at the national level, 100.0 per cent in urban areas, and 99.4 per cent in rural areas in 2024.
  4. Garbage collection services in living quarters increased to 75.4 per cent in 2024 (2022: 70.2%). Urban households have higher access to living quarters garbage collection services at 87.5 per cent (2022: 82.8%) as compared to rural households which is at 33.1 per cent (2022:26.0%).

Education

  1. A total of 98.7 per cent of households lived less than five kilometres from primary school, while 95.9 per cent were lived within the same distance from secondary school in 2024.
  2. Access to public kindergarten increased from 97.4 per cent in 2022 to 98.2 per cent in 2024. Meanwhile, access to private kindergarten is 88.5 per cent in 2024.

Health

  1. Household lived less than five kilometers to public health facilities in 2024 is at 97.8 per cent in 2024 as compared to 97.5 per cent in 2022, whereby household lived less than five kilometers to private health facility increased at 92.8 per cent (2022: 92.2%).

Household Vehicles Ownership and Selected Communication Amenities

  1. Vehicle ownership reflects households’ mobility and access to private transportation. Almost 92.3 per cent of households in 2024 owned a car (2022: 89.9%) while 78.1 per cent in 2024 owned a motorcycle (2022: 75.4%).
  2. Almost all households subscribe to the Internet at 99.6 per cent. Smartphone ownership is also high at 98.4 per cent. Laptops owned by 57.6 per cent of households.
